Nagaland CM Mourns Governor La Ganesan’s Demise

In his condolences message, Nagaland Cm said, “Today, on August 15, 2025, I was deeply upset about the passing of our Hon’ble Governor Shri La. Ganeshan Ji in Chennai.” He said.

On February 11, 2023, Ganesan was appointed as the 21st Nagaland Governor. During his term of office, he worked hard to strengthen the union and to encourage the development in the state.

“His humble nature loved him and will continue to inspire generations, Redi Rio said, he described him as honesty, principle, great wisdom and moral power.

The Prime Minister said that the dedication service of the governor, calm leadership and permanent commitment to justice and unity will be remembered. Rio, “The gap left by the passage will be deeply felt, but we get comfort in the service, courage and leadership heritage left behind. His contributions to the state and the nation will be remembered with respect and gratitude.” He said.

Nagaland declared seven-day state mourning between 16-22 August. During this period, the national flag will fly with half a pole in all buildings where it is regularly removed, and there will be no official entertainment by the state government departments.

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, DMK deputy Kanimozhi and other leaders and authorities paid tribute to the deceased governor.

BJP leader H Raja, “… condolences to the older members of the family and every worker of BJP and every worker of BJP … Last rituals tomorrow (August 16) will be held at 15:30 and before that, the deadly remains will be kept to respect the public …” BJP leader H Raja said.

Nainar Nagenthiran, President of Tamil Nadu from BJP, said Ganesan’s fatal remains would be kept on the ground for the public to respect the public on Saturday morning. Nagenthiran, “The last rituals will begin at 15:00, then the Besant Nagar region will be creamy at 17:00.” He said.

Previously, President Droupadi Murmu expressed his grief by remembering the long and private public service of Nagaland Governor La Ganesan on Friday. In his condolences message, the President, “Nagaland Governor, was upset about the death of Shri La Ganesan Ji. He also served as the governor of Rajya Sabha and Manipur and West Bengal. He worked for the welfare of Tamil Nadu throughout the life of the long people. He worked for Tamil Nadu’s welfare.”
