Emergency services, a group of women on Saturday after the rocks on Lake Macquarie launched an air and sea search.
Before the rising tide hidden them, witnesses were called to the region around 13:40, after seeing four women around 13:00 in the south of the Catherine Hill Bay Beach.
Local civil servants, the Naval Region Command and Westpac Rescue helicopter are examining the area, but could not find the group.
It is unclear whether women succeed in reaching security.
One of the women reportedly wore red shorts.
Anyone who is informed is asked to contact the police immediately.

“Zero swollen and the ocean was flat, Westpac helicopter and water police were quickly arrived and a big crowd was watching,” Gooch said.
He added that the girls did not appear in any problems that they can say.
Another local John Norris warned about the dangers of the region.
