NSS to survey farm households & debt

NEW DELHI: The government is likely to conduct the status assessment survey of agricultural households together with all India Debt and Investment Research (AIDIS) in 2026.

These will form a part of the 81st round of the National Sample Survey (NSS) and will be planned to last from July 2026 to June 2027.

Information about Agricultural Households Research, Farm and Out -of -Farm Business Receipts and expenditures, access to different plans and agriculture, resources and purpose of loans, and other aspects, as well as technical recommendations about states and trade union regions.
Findings will help shape the formation of agricultural policy construction and evaluate the progress in the farmer welfare from the last survey conducted in 2019.

Agricultural households have been defined from self -employment activities based on the value of agricultural production within 365 days before the date of survey.
The two questionnaires were last conducted in 2019 by the Ministry of Statistics and Program Application on the 77th NSS round. He found that the average monthly income of agricultural households was 10.218 ₹. The biggest share fees (₹ 4,063) were then net receipts from crop production (₹ 3.798).
Authorized, households’ assets and obligations of the debt and investment survey will be held every five years, he said.
According to AIDIS 2019, the average asset value per household in rural areas was 222.1 lakh for cultivor households and 15.9 lakh with 7.9 lakh for non -imitated households. In urban areas, the average asset value was 27.2 Lakh. It was 22.1 Lakh for 41.5 Lakh and other households for self -employed households.
Currently, as part of the 80th NSS tour, a health research on health expenditures, including treatment costs, types of discomfort and other health -related details, continues.
