Kerala HC imposes fine on six councillors of Thrissur Corporation, lawyer

The Supreme Court of Kerala imposed a fine of six members of the Assembly of Thrissur Corporation and a lawyer in the accusation they approached the court for alleged irregularities in the delivery of a thousand tourist house of the company to a person on rent.

The members of the Assembly jointly pay 5 lakh, the lawyer must pay 5 lakh within a month, Justice ordered the Rawal and Justice Pv Balakrishnan bench.

The court applied for an appeal against the rental of the tourism house against the order of a single counter. After the members of the Assembly approached the chapter bench for the second time and approached the lawyer Ombudsman, a fine was fined by challenging the same single bank order.

The court said that the petitions and the complainant before the Ombudsman have dragged not only the municipal company, but also the successful bidder owner, forcing them to withdraw them and prevent the company from getting the highest bid. The court said that such cases are prejudiced and aimed to solve personal agenda against other members of parliament and the mayor. The court should not be used as a platform to promote such transactions.

The court said that it was a wise tactic that one party approached the court and the other’s approach to Ombudsman. It should not be attempted to reduce the company’s right to income.
