Amit Shah unveils quadrangular security grid at Border SPs’ conference

Shah said India’s border stretches 15,000 km across 18 states and UTs and asked the forces to make three commitments: secure border, prosperous border region and a vigilant society.
“We will move holistically towards ensuring coastal border security in the coming days,” said Shah, adding: “The conference will include discussing the problems related to border security, addressing concerns regarding their solution, and formulating appropriate policy measures in this direction.”
Shah said: “India’s border security system, based on the smart border vision, will become the most modern system in the world. We are creating a robust system that will completely free the country from infiltration. The government has increased the border infrastructure by 400 percent and is taking it forward with a scientific approach.”
FOCUSING ON DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGES
Shah emphasized the importance of ensuring that information on demographic changes caused by abnormal factors in the border areas is conveyed from the grassroots to the highest level as soon as possible. The government is also fencing the 1,610 km India-Myanmar border worth around Rs 31,000 crore.
