Indian Institutes of Technology (ITs) and Indian Management Institutes (IIMs) are among the most prestigious training installations in the country. Currently, there are 23 IIT and 21 IIM among Indian provinces and union regions. There are also plans to add more to the existing institutes. But did you know that there are only four cities in India, an IIT and IIM? Let’s tell you about them.
Indore
Indore, Madhya Pradesh’s largest and most crowded city, is an important training center because it contains both an IT and IIM. IT Indore was founded in 2009 and is one of the relatively new eight ITITs. In the 2024 NIRF ranking, IIt Indore ranked 33rd in India, 27 in the study and 16th among engineering schools. IIM Indore was founded in 1996 and became the sixth to be established in the country.
Jammu
IT JAMMU was founded in 2016. He ranked 62nd in the engineering category in the 2024 NIRF ranking. Iım Jammu was founded in the same year with IIt Jammu and made it one of the newest IIMs in the country.
Mumbai
Founded in 1958, IIt Bombay was the Second IT in the country. It was built with funds from UNESCO and the Soviet Union contributed. IIM Mumbai appeared when the National Institute of Industrial Engineering was transformed in 2023. Before IIM Guwahati, the Mumbai Institute was recently added to the list of IIMs.
Guwahati
The last city with both IT and IIM will be Guwahati in Assam. IT Guwahati was founded in 1994 and started in 1995. IIM Guwahati is the last IIM in the country and this will begin to accept students from the academic year.
