Kerala High Court dismisses PIL against Thomas Isaac’s appointment as Vijnana Keralam advisor

On Monday, August 25, 2025, Kerala Supreme Court rejected a public interest (PID) that challenged the appointment of former Minister of Finance Thomas Isaac as the advisor of Vijnana Keralam.

Dr. Isaac’s exposure to such a petition was “unfortunate, and observed that a division counter led by the Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar and Justice Basant Balaji was not supported by appropriate research. The Kerala government appointed him as a consultant because he was an expert in the field and accepted to work voluntarily.

PIL opened by a Navas A. Dr. Isaac claimed that he made 70,000 ₹ a month to the fuel and driver expenses he claimed to be the abuse of public funds.

A week ago, the Supreme Court of Kerala had reserved the petition. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court on the basis of PIL. He published notification to Isaac and appointed an Amicus Curiae to help PIL.

Vijnana Keralam is a part of the Kerala Information Economy (KKEM) attempt, which aims to develop employment opportunities, and the attempt of the Strategic Council (KDISC).
