MSP locked out of parliament after secret toilet camera claims

A MSP disabled Holyrood Pass in his reports on the Scottish Parliament toilet.
Colin Smyth was suspended by Emek after being accused of having inappropriate images of children at the beginning of this month. He is expected to appear at the Dumfries Sheriff Court at a later date.
Daily Record Newspaper Now Southern Scotland reported that the MSP was facing a camera placement in the parliament in the parliament.
Before Holyrood returned from the recesses next week, David McGill, the General Manager of Parliament, said that the transition of Smyth was deactivated considering the ongoing criminal investigation. Smyth said he had previously cooperated with investigations.
A Scottish Parliament Spokesman: “Considering the ongoing criminal investigation, the SPCB (Scottish Parliament’s corporate organ) decided to deactivate Colin Smyth’s passage of parliament this evening.
“We have informed all building users in Holyrood.”
In a E -Post sent to Holyrood personnel, David McGill, General Manager of the Scottish Parliament, said: “We know the nature of criminal charges and may be sad for the ongoing investigation colleagues and may cause distress.
“For this reason, we want to remind everyone who works in Holyrood or in the election offices of current secret support services.”
Smyth recently played a few pre -prescription roles in April 2023 and previously served as Secretary General of the Scottish Labor Party.
A Scottish Labor Party spokesman said: “After realizing these serious claims, quick action was taken. Colin Smyth MSP is an independent MSP.
He continued: “While the legal proceedings continue, we cannot comment on these developments.”
“These events were shocked and this is a very stressful time,” Smyth said in a statement after his arrest.
