The Supreme Court of Allahabad has invalidated the Uttar Pradesh government orders, which led to more than 79% of the seats in the state medical faculties in Ambedkar Nagar, Kannauj, Jalaun and Saharanpur regions.
The Court’s Lucknow counter led the state to refill the seats in accordance with the 2006 Reservation Law, and the reservation limit did not exceed the established 50% limit.

The decision was delivered by Bhatiia Bank on Thursday, in response to a petition opened by Neet candidate Sabra Ahmed.
Neet-2025’te 523 points with the rank of 29,061 of the petition with the rank of 523 points, a series of government orders given between 2010-2015, argued that the reservation limit increased illegally.
The petition emphasized that only seven chairs were allocated to the unprotected category in these colleges, each of which has 85 seats on the state government quota.
This was presented as a clear violation of the long -standing principle, which should not exceed 50%of the reservation.
The State Government and the General Manager of Medical Education and Teaching opposed the petition by referring to the Indira Sawhney case to claim that the 50% limit was not absolute and overcome.
However, the court rejected this claim by stating that any increase in the reservation limit should be made in accordance with appropriate legal procedures and rules.
