Anzac Memorial, Sydney: Two men charged over alleged ‘malicious’ damage

Two 61 -year -old men were accused by the police after allegedly damaging the Anzac Monument in Sydney CBD.

Police claim that the duo was caught on CCTV, where the two sprayed a substance on the walls and steps in Hyde Park at 12.20 on Thursday.

The images of the two men were released by the NSW police on Friday and sprayed a liquid on the eastern walls and northern steps of a man, and the other sprayed a substance to the southern steps of the monument.

During the media view, Chief Inspector Gary Coffey said that the substance was believed to cause granite “permanent” painting.

“The actions in my mind were absolutely black,” he said.

“Someone will recognize them and should be held responsible for their actions.”

Saturday morning, NSW police said that two men joined the Auburn Police Station in the afternoon on Friday afternoon.

Two men would appear on Saturday at the local court on the parramat.
