CPI, farmer leaders demand government to take steps against shortage of urea

The Indian Communist Party (CPI) and Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangam showed a protest against the artificial scarcity of Üre in the Prakasam Region in the collection of Ongle on Monday. They demanded that the government takes urgent steps to prevent farmers from avoiding any difficulties.
Speaking to the media, CPI Regional Secretary Ml Narayana said, “The coalition government in the state could not provide farmers in time. However, farmers used 39.5 lakh metric tons of fertilizer in the state last year. The government wrote a letter stating that only 32 lakh metric tones this year would be this year.
Compared to last year, there are seven lakh metric tons of fertilizer this year. The dual engine government said it could not supply fertilizer to the state. On the other hand, special fertilizer traders hide the stock and sell them at higher prices in the market, demanding that the government be handled strictly against the illegal traders.
Far Farmers throughout the state are already faced with various difficulties due to lack of paid prices for crops, lack of planting and fertilizers and seeds for their crops.
AP Rythu Sangam Regional Secretary General K. Veera Redy, said the coalition government in the state neglected against farmers. He said he could not provide urea to farmers. The authority asked the government to take steps immediately to solve the problems of farmers.
