Jaxson Dart faced the music last week when he made a statement in response to his introduction of President Donald Trump at an event in New York.
The New York Giants quarterback was invited to introduce Trump, prompting backlash from fans, media and even teammate Abdul Carter.
Still, Dart addressed the situation in an effort to put the situation in the past, but in doing so he received further backlash from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

Dart explained that he had a “unique opportunity” to introduce the president of the United States, saying, “The position of President has always been one that I have respected, regardless of political affiliation and political party, and you know, that was exactly my intention.”
But Florio said Dart was “playing around” with the “most important question” he was asked by the press: whether he understood why his decision to promote Trump was controversial.
“That’s the only question that needs to be answered,” Florio said in Monday’s edition. “Pro Football Talk Live.” “Okay, ‘I’ll revisit my statement,’ but your statement doesn’t address that. Your statement tries to make this apolitical. You can’t. It’s impossible to make that gesture right now, in this apolitical time. Just being there and introducing the president is a political statement.”

FORMER MSNBC HOST JOY REID SAYS SHE IS NO LONGER A FAN OF THE NEW YORK GIANTS AFTER JAXSON DART INTRODUCED TRUMP
“I think we need to be realistic at this point, and anyone who says this isn’t political is just trying to advance their own agenda to excuse Dart and criticize Abdul Carter.”
Carter said he thought a video on X featuring Dart and Trump was “artificial intelligence” and added: “What are we doing, man?”
Dart added that he understands that politics is a “sensitive issue” and that being the team’s starting quarterback carries responsibility. Dart and Carter embraced after speaking to the media about the ordeal.
“Stand up for what you believe in. But when I stand up for what I believe in, there can be no problem. That’s the only thing that matters to me. As long as we have that understanding, everything is fine,” Carter said.
“I mean, we just talked,” Dart added. “You know, me and Abdul came here at the same time. We shared a lot of similar experiences. We went through adversity throughout a season and had to have each other’s backs, and that’s exactly what we continued to do today.”
