‘A lot of blood’: local reporters describe moment when Charlie Kirk was shot | Charlie Kirk shooting
When Charlie Kirk was shot on her neck in Utah, a question was asked about collective shots.
On Wednesday, Donald Trump’s right -wing activist and leading Conservative Youth Organization Turning Point Usa’s general manager was talking at a campus in Orem near Salt Lake City when he was shot.
The videos published online were sitting under a tent in a 31 -year -old campus courtyard and showed a single shot when he was hit around his neck.
Emma Pitts, a correspondent of the Salt Lake City -based Deseret News Media organ, took an event with his colleague Eva Terry, and when Kirk came to the event, he told The Guardian in a telephone conversation on the campus in the afternoon.
“Charlie came [and] I feel that the crowd is usually super positive, very happy to come to Utah. We interviewed many people in advance, they were very willing to interview. ”
Terry echoed Pitts, “There were only many undergraduate students who were excited about it.” He said.
According to eyewitnesses, Kirk was shot during the second question in the event.
Pitts said: “He was in the second question and he was about mass shootings, and the person he argued was that Kirk asked if he didn’t know how many mass shooting of a transsexual shooter he answered. Then he asked how many mass shots in the last few years.
“And then we heard a fiery weapon before answering, and we saw Charlie Kirk’s neck turned to the side and was hit by her neck. Immediately there was blood, there was so much blood, Pit Pitts added.
The videos circulating on social media show a participant asking Kirk: “Do you know how many transsexual Americans have been a mass shooter for the last 10 years?” In contrast, Kirk says, “too much” while the crowd is applauded.
In a follow -up question, the person asks: “Do you know how many mass shooters have been in America for the last 10 years?”
Kirk answers: “Does not count the intensity of the gang?” A few seconds later, Kirk was shot around his neck on his way back to his chair.
Pitts, after shooting, everyone went to the ground immediately after shooting. Me and Eva, we just hugged as tight as we were trying to stay hidden.
Terry explained the direction of the shooting as follows: “Apparently came to the right side of the audience.”
“We hope that Charlie Kirk is good and the people in the event were good because it was really scary for everyone there, Ter said Terry added.
