President Donald Trump said in a statement on Thursday that he would give the country’s highest civilian dignity to the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the conservative activist and close friend Charlie Kirk. The announcement came with a ceremony marking the anniversary of the September 11 attacks in the Pentagon.

A praise of the ‘giant’ of the generation

President Trump praised Kirk, describing the 31 -year -old child as “the giant of the generation, the champion of freedom and the source of inspiration for millions and millions of people”. He said that “Charlie’s voice and the courage of countless people, especially the courage of young people,” he said.
The news came as the federal and local authorities gave reports about the investigation into the assassination of Kirk. The FBI reported that it was “images of the suspect” and obtained a “high -power rifle”, which they suspected of being used to kill it.
A Trump Ally for a long time
Kirk, a well -known podcaster and self -labeled “Culture Warrior”, appealed to a turning point US rally at Utah Valley University, while a block on a roof on Wednesday. Kirk, a leader of the effort “Make America again”, led the efforts to encourage voter participation among Republican base voters.
After the shoot, Kirk was taken to Timpanogos Regional Hospital where he was announced to be dead.
