After 20 months out, Sam Kerr makes stunning goal-scoring return
Matildas superstar Sam Kerr made a striking goal after the absence of a 20 -month injury and scored 100th goal for Chelsea, the British club side.
After being kept on the bench for the opening fixture of the Women’s Super League against Manchester City, Kerr was released as a late reserve in his 3-1 win at Aston Villa on Sunday.
And the 32 -year -old Australian, who has not played for Blues since January 2024 due to a chronic ACL injury, immediately made his presence in Villa Park by scoring the third goal in the second flat league win.
Chelsea coach Sonia Bompastor implied that the captain of Matildas would be at work with “I hope we will see” at a press conference on Friday.
And the appearance of the counter in the 75th minute of Kerr, Aggie Beever-Jones’ Ebony Salmon by a Missy Bo Kearns before the goal of his goal before the second strike of the season was a great support for the leading visitors.
