Man charged with murder of fellow inmate at HMP Exeter | UK news

Police said a 39 -year -old man was accused of murder after the death of a prisoner in a prison in Devon.
James Desborough was accused of the murder of 65 -year -old Steven Kempster, who died after an incident at HMP Exeter on Monday.
Devon and Cornwall police, Cornwall’dan Desborough’un detained by the police and on Thursday will appear in the Exteri Magistrate Criminal Court, he said.
On Wednesday, the spokesman for the force said: “We reported that Mr. Kempster from prison had died in his cell on Monday, September 15th.
Helen Phillips, the Senior Crown Prosecutor of the South West CPS, said in a statement: “The Royal Prosecutor’s Office Service decided to judge James Desborough for the murder of Steven Kempster.
“Our prosecutors found that there was enough evidence to indicate that the trial of the case and the continuation of criminal cases were in the public interest.
“We worked closely with Devon and Cornwall police while investigating.”
Opened in 1853, the HMP Exeter is a Male Category B prison with a capacity of approximately 561 prisoners.
