For the First Time: Direct flights between Israel and Argentina
The aim of the move, which has been supported by the Israeli Ministry of Finance in recent months, is to “support the deepening of economic ties between the countries, facilitate commercial activities and international cooperation, and contribute to the expansion of trade and investment between Israel and Latin American countries.”
The Prime Minister’s Office said the line is also expected to increase transportation accessibility between the countries, promote inbound and outbound tourism, and make remote destinations accessible to the Israeli public.
The move was made through El Al, which will operate the line in line with government decisions on the matter, and includes a support mechanism for the operation of the line to establish economic feasibility and establish regular aviation activity over time.
“Direct flights between Israel and Argentina will bring the friendship between our countries even closer,” Netanyahu said. “Together with my friend President Milley, we are expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, technology, security, and now aviation and tourism, through direct and rapid communication. We will continue to connect Israel to the world and the world to Israel.”
