Seven arrested over the deaths of Dau Akueng and Chol Achiek.

On Friday, Victoria Police Commissioner Martin O’Brien said the investigation into deaths continued.

“The word ‘meaningless’ has been used many times about the deaths of Dau Akueng and Chol Achiek, because the truth does not make sense. Two children walking at home after playing sports should have to be in front of their lives for decades.”

“Instead, the ruined families upset everything that they will not see their losses and never see that two children grow up and experience.”

O’Brien said that the complex investigation was managed by the murder team and that the detectives worked for two weeks to try and define the relevant ones.

“The eldest of the seven people arrested today is only 19 years old, the youngest 15 -year -old. Again, there is no other word other than being meaningless.”

“Any event, which is such an important event that leads to the loss of a life, is a concern for the police. The effects of these deaths, especially the DAU and Chols, are felt from families who lose their loved ones, even when many people feel as a result, even when they do not know them.”

He said the police said that the police increased patrols in the region, that they work with local community groups and that they would continue to support families.

“I would also like to accept the people who help both children after the attacks without knowing whether their safety is at risk,” he said.

The warrants were executed in Thornhill Park, Caroline Springs, Wollert and the surrounding houses on Friday.

Among those arrested, Thornhill Park and Caroline Springs, a 18 -year -old Wollert man, a 16 -year -old three male and a 15 -year -old child, all of the two -year -old men of Melbourne’s two -year -old.

Following the murders of the two children, Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Mike Bush sent an internal note to the officers who supported the comments made by the detective inspector Graham Banks, who broke the rank for the courts and the state government and the state government to say existing penalties.

Banks told journalists that the rising crime in Victoria was not just a problem of policing and that strong deterrers were needed.

“Whether this balance is true is really a matter of society and courts and ultimately the government,” he said.

“But while standing here before you, I think that the penalties are not in balance with the expectations of society or with me.”

Bush said that Banks had full support for the fact that they met with challenging times and that they answered “too high crime levels to be accepted”.

“I also want to accept the comments of Detective Inspector Graham Banks … [of] When we were asked about the penalties delivered in the courts for our worst criminals yesterday at a media conference, Bush wrote to the officers.

“There should be results for those who commit these crimes that create fear in our community.

“Although the Victoria police will always respect the independence of the courts, I understand the disappointment of the members.

“In my role, I will continue to defend a series of interventions (including legislation) that will provide clearly needed accountability and deterrence.”
