Kids’ magnetic chess set pulled from shelves over safety fears

A popular magnetic chess for children was urgently withdrawn from the shelves after not complying with safety standards.
The magnetic chess set, which can be purchased online from the sensory Toys Australia, contained 20 irregularly shaped magnets, a piece and a boot bag.
It was offered for sale between 6 July 2024 and 13 August 2025.
Children’s toy was urgently remembered for not following the permanent ban in small high -power magnets.
These magnets are usually found in jewels and certain toys.
If more than one magnet is swallowed by a child, it may stick to each other in the intestines or digestive tissue and cause drowning, serious internal injuries or death.
Sensory toy Australia, chess set “any injury or damage report” did not receive, instead of “as a precaution to protect consumers”, he said.
“We sincerely apologize for discomfort and thank you for your cooperation,” he said.

Consumers are asked to stop using the product immediately and stay in a way that children cannot reach.
Chess set holders can contact Australia for a complete repayment or store loan for another product.
“Customers who return the product in its original packaging and unused conditions will receive full refund,” he said.
“After the product has been reversed, repayments will be processed, because it allows us to return it to our supplier for refund.”
If the product is not in the original state, customers can “destroy safely” of the product.
