SpiceJet’s Kathmandu-bound plane faces suspected tailpipe fire at Delhi airport

Spicejet’s aircraft of Kathmandu met a suspicious tail pipe fire at Delhi Airport on 11 September 2025 Thursday and returned to the Gulf.

The airline said that the aircraft had detailed engineering controls and there was no abnormality.

The SG041 flight was operated with a Boeing 737-8 aircraft at FLIGHTradar24.com according to information on the flight monitoring website.

The sources said the flight planned to leave in the morning was delayed for more than four hours.

“On September 11, 2025, a Spicejet plane, which was planned to operate from Delhi to Kathmandu, returned to Bay after a suspicious tail pipe fire after another plane on the ground. No warning or indication was observed in the cockpit, but the pilots decided to return with one statement.”

In a broad sense, a tail pipe is the exhaust pipe of a motor.

Aircraft detailed engineering controls were applied and no abnormality was found. The plane has been cleaned for operations since then and added that it would leave in a short time.

Details of the number of passengers on the plane could not be determined immediately.

A jet motor tail pipe fever, also called internal fire, occurs on the normal gas flow of the engine. According to the information on the Skybrary website, especially during motor starting or closing, a tail pipe fever occurs.
