Meghan Markle was a royal for less than two years after marrying Prince Harry, but she had the opportunity to experience some major royal events during that time. One of these was Trooping the Colour, where the Duchess of Sussex made her balcony debut.

She wrote that after leaving the balcony, Catherine asked Meghan what she thought of the first Troop of the Color, to which Meghan replied, “Coloured.”

He claimed that his wife’s response was a cheerful and light joke.

However, he did not get the reaction he hoped for.

Speaking about the reaction, Harry wrote: “A yawning silence was threatening to engulf us all.”

Meghan Markle attended two Trooping the Color events, one in 2018 and the other in 2019.

Meghan and Prince Harry have not attended Trooping the Color since stepping away from royal life in 2020.

Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, never attended the Joining of the Color celebrations.
