‘ShamWow’ guy, Vince Shlomi, files to run for Congress in Texas as a Republican

Offer Vince Shlomi, the famed infomercial host known as the “ShamWow man” who advertises super-absorbent towels on late-night television, has filed to run for Congress as a Republican in Texas, state election records show.
The application, received Friday, was submitted under the name Offer Vince “ShamWow” Shlomi.
Shlomi told Fox News Digital in an interview Sunday that her decision to run for office ultimately stemmed from a desire to “destroy wokeism” and as a tribute to the late Charlie Kirk, whom she called the original “woke buster.” He added that the “political strife in the country” eventually inspired him to seek office and “make America happy.”

The 61-year-old Israeli-American entrepreneur aims to unseat 84-year-old Congressman John Carter, R-Texas, who is seeking re-election in the region. Carter’s district includes the northern Austin suburbs, Temple and Fort Hood.
Shlomi is now one of at least five candidates aiming to run in the primary for the 31st Congressional District, a reliably red stronghold in Texas.

Shlomi, president and CEO of TV marketing company Square One Entertainment, rose to pop culture fame in the 2000s with her high-energy pitch videos that helped make the super-absorbent “ShamWow” towel a household name.
However, his rise to fame has also brought several high-profile controversies, including allegations of harassment and physical altercations; then retreated from the spotlight in recent years and reportedly attempted to clean up his image.

In 2009, Shlomi was arrested following an alleged violent altercation with a sex worker in Miami Beach; This incident became a tabloid news when police photographs of the wounds on Shlomi’s face emerged.
Early in his career, he faced legal battles related to his 1999 underground comedy film “Underground Comedy Movie”.

But in recent years Shlomi has kept a lower profile while returning to marketing and entrepreneurship.
