Demand For Hindupur As District Headquarters Rising

-Anantapur: With the formation of new districts in AP, Hindupur-based organizations and activists started a campaign to make Hindupur the headquarters of Satya Sai district.

These activists are pressuring Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna to be a part of the movement to make Hindupur the district headquarters. He points out that Hindupur has all the necessary infrastructure to become a hub, including lands and infrastructure.

The previous YSRC government had earlier declared international spiritual center Puttaparthi as the headquarters of Satya Sai district. But the people of Penukonda and Hindupur.

In Puttaparthi, devotees complain that the spiritual atmosphere in the town has deteriorated after the town was made a district headquarters due to agitations by political parties and people’s organizations in the collectorate located on Prasanthi Nilayam road. This issue was also brought to the attention of President Droupadi Murmu.

While this was happening, the TD-led coalition government started to offer a few more regions. This encouraged Hindupur activists to agitate and use Balakrishna’s influence to designate Hindupur as the center of Sri Satya Sai district, replacing Puttaparthi.

Leaders crossing party lines formed the Hindupur Jilla Sadhana Samithi. Imdad was elected president of the Samithi. Kallur Umar Farooq Khan, president of All India Tippu United Front, said that Hindupur has fulfilled all the conditions to become the district headquarters of Satya Sai district.

“We will continue our agitation until the government comes forward to make Hindupur the district headquarters,” he said. He said Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna supported this demand while he was in opposition.

“Balakrishna now needs to make an impact to make Hindupur the hub while retaining the title of Satya Sai district in honor of Sri Satya Saibaba,” Imdad highlighted.
