ACB Unearths Huge Illegal Assets Of Former AP Bhavan Special Officer

Chinnappanna was in office from October 2019 and his term was extended until June 2024. ACB officials claimed that he purchased assets in his name, family members and others during his tenure.
Simultaneous searches were carried out at six places, including Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Rajahmundry, Tadepalli, Krishnalanka and Vijayawada, on Sunday and Monday.
During the raids, officials found five plots at Tagarapuvalasa in Visakhapatnam, three plots at Marripalem under Parawada mandal in Anakapalle district, a flat purchase agreement at Pebble Beach Towers in Rushikonda and another flat in Visakhapatnam city.
Authorities also found investments worth ₹ 45.15 lakh in Zerodha Broking Ltd and two vehicles among the assets allegedly linked to the accused.

Sentenced to 2 years in prison for dowry harassment

A Chittoor court on Monday sentenced M. Meghanath (42) to two years’ imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000 in the dowry harassment case registered at the Women’s Police Station in 2020.
Police said the complainant, P. Sudha, married Meghanath in 2014 and her family gave Rs 20 lakh, 100 royal gold coins and jewelery as dowry. He then allegedly harassed her and subjected her to physical and mental abuse for an additional Rs 2 lakh.
The court found him guilty under Sections 498-A and 506 of the IPC. The other defendants were acquitted due to lack of evidence.

FRS helps police find missing girl in 25 minutes

NTR district police traced a missing minor girl from Visakhapatnam district within 25 minutes with the help of Facial Recognition System (FRS) technology installed near Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada.

Police said the girl was reported missing under Gajuwaka police station limits on May 24 and details about the girl were integrated in the RTGS tracking system after the case was registered.
On Monday afternoon, Command and Control Center personnel identified the girl through cameras connected to the FRS near the temple. Acting upon the notice, the CCS police team rushed to the scene and found the girl’s trace safely within 25 minutes.
Police later informed the girl’s family and ensured her safe custody.

Little boy drowned in fish pond

A 1.5-year-old boy accidentally drowned in a fish pond at ST Colony in Duvvuru village in Sangam mandal on Sunday.

The boy, identified as Abhilash, reportedly fell into a nearby fish pond while playing near his home. Citizens and citizens who noticed that he was missing began to search for the person.

The boy’s body was later found floating in a pond near the house. The incident devastated the family and a great pessimism fell on the village.

Man arrested for property crimes

Vizag city police arrested a man involved in six property crimes across the city and recovered 230 grams of gold ornaments worth around Rs 30 lakh from him.
Police identified the accused as 31-year-old Rambabu, a native of Cheepurupalli in Vizianagaram district. According to police, some residents were leaving their house keys in shoe racks outside their locked homes. Taking advantage of this, Rambabu allegedly entered six houses in Madhurawada district using keys and escaped with gold ornaments.

Two people died by suicide

Two people died by suicide in separate cases on Monday. Photographer K. Appa Rao, 28, allegedly consumed a harmful chemical at Vengalarayapuram under Balijipeta mandal in Vizianagaram district.
In Vizag city, a 16-year-old girl studying in a private residential college was hanged to death in her hostel room at Kapuluppada under Bheemili police station limits.

Man electrocuted

A 50-year-old man named Sunkara Nookaraju died of electrocution while working in a farm field at Kothapalli under Kasimkota mandal in Anakapalle district. Police said he accidentally came into contact with an electrical cable connected to a motor pump set.

Municipal employees dharna

Members of AP Municipal Employees Union and AITUC staged a protest at Rajamahendravaram on Monday during Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan’s visit regarding preparations for Godavari Pushkaralu-2027.

Protesters claimed that the police did not allow municipal employees to meet with the Deputy Prime Minister and make a statement about their demands.

Leading the agitation, AITUC leader T. Madhu alleged that Pawan Kalyan had earlier stated that he had “adopted the Relli caste” in Kakinada, but now did not meet the community members when they wanted to air their grievances.

The protesters demanded an increase in the number of sanitary staff before Godavari Pushkaralu and demanded that salaries be paid through APSOS.

They also demanded that the monthly salary of healthcare workers be increased to ₹21,000.
