Hijacked plane crashes into Los Angeles airport building

It was revealed that a small plane crashed into a building after being stolen from a flight school at a Los Angeles-area airport.
A thief allegedly broke into Van Nuys Airport around 4 a.m., hijacked a single-engine Cessna and crashed it into a building. KNBC reported.
Video of the crash site showed how the nose of the plane penetrated the building, leaving a hole in the side of the hangar.
Law enforcement officials have not yet released details of how the theft occurred but noted that the plane never took off from the ground.
According to Los Angeles police, a suspect was arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft on the plane.
Both the LAPD and the FBI responded to the scene. It’s unclear whether authorities are looking for additional suspects.
Authorities also did not confirm whether anyone was injured during the incident.

The incident occurred at the flight training facility at Van Nuys Airport. KTLA.
Investigators suspect the plane hit the building while taxiing on the ground.
He has since been taken out of the hangar and into flight school.
Little is known about the suspect, including whether the person was a student at the flight academy.
The Federal Aviation Administration launched an investigation into the theft.
A spokesperson told the news outlet that the investigation is in its preliminary stages and information is subject to change.
Van Nuys Airport is owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports, the same company that owns and operates Los Angeles International.
Located in the San Fernando Valley, Van Nuys is considered one of the busiest airports in the world, according to city officials.
