Sabarimala issue: ‘Even God is not safe’ in Kerala, alleges FM Sitharaman

While addressing party workers during a roadshow, he said the southern state could be known as ‘God’s Country’. “But God is not safe in Kerala. Even Lord Ayyappa’s gold was taken away. So my humble request is… we don’t want UDF and LDF in the state anymore,” Sitharaman said.
Launching a scathing attack on the CPI(M)-led ruling LDF and the Congress-led UDF, he accused the traditional fronts of mismanaging the Kerala economy through alternative mandates in power.
“UDF and LDF cannot continue like this. Because Kerala’s economy is in a very bad condition,” the finance minister said.
He claimed that the state’s financial situation has deteriorated significantly, industries have declined and entrepreneurs are finding it difficult to continue their operations in Kerala.
Citing prominent businessman and Twenty20 president Sabu M Jacob as an example, Sitharaman said many industrial groups were forced to move out of the state due to the unfavorable business environment.
He also alleged that employment opportunities were shrinking and alleged that only those associated with CPI(M) in the state were getting everything done in their favour.
The Union minister also accused, “Unless you are a CPI(M) member, you cannot do anything here.”
