Office of CAG signs MoU with CBDT to enhance operational effectiveness

New Delhi, September 24 (PTI) Indian auditor and general supervisor and direct Tax Central Board (CBDT) entered into an agreement Zaptı (MO) to increase operational effectiveness.

The memorandum of the Memorandum was signed by CBDT President Ravi Agrawal and Cag K Sanjay Murthy.

“Both organizations will cooperate to encourage academic, education and research interaction/cooperation in capacity development and research activities in mutual interests.” He said.

Murthy emphasized that the signing of the Memorandum Zaptı will significantly increase professional cooperation and capacity development efforts between two departments, especially in data -oriented technology.

Mou said he would serve as a strategic framework to close the skill gap between the two institutions and to encourage mutual growth.

Partnership, training workshops, common seminars, audit information based on advanced data analytics, and the use of innovative methods such as remote audits in GST audits and other fields/sectors will focus on the use of innovative methods.

CAG also said that since the goals of both institutions are aligned, CAG office, CAG officials are effectively trained in developing technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, they can support CBDT in strengthening systems defined by the latter.

Murthy expressed his confidence that this official partnership would encourage transparency, increase operational effectiveness and increase regulatory changes based on audit information and thus contribute positively to the general financial and governance ecosystem.

CBDT President Agrawal said that the continuous dialogue and training infrastructure in the audit department would increase the tax administration further and that tax officials in the Income Tax Department would help improve the learning curve.
