Arsonist douses home, almost sets own face on fire

An arsonist’s face was filled with fire in a botched attempt to set fire to a house in Brisbane.
CCTV footage captured the arsonist, dressed head to toe in black, breaching the fence of the family-friendly suburb of Stretton at around 8.50pm on Tuesday night.
With his face partially covered in black material, he repeatedly broke the window of a Mercedes parked in the home’s driveway with a blunt weapon.
The man covered the front of the house with accelerator with the canister in his hand and set it on fire.

Flames shot toward the arsonbug’s face and upper body, clearly disorienting him as he staggered away toward the balcony pillars of the Washington Place home before fleeing the scene.
Queensland Police said the condition of “all residents at the property was reported with no injuries reported. The fire caused limited damage to the property.”
Queensland Police are appealing for the public’s help in tracking down the bungling arsonist as investigations continue.
Members of the public who may have information are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers and call 1800 333 000.
