Accused in Stabbing Consultancy Owner Held

Hyderabad: Madhuranahar police arrested 19-year-old Pollamari Setty Prabhu Kumar for allegedly killing business consultancy owner Jaggavarapu Shashi Kiran Reddy and assaulting a woman HR manager at an office in Engineers Colony on Tuesday. Kiran Reddy, owner of Best Group of Services Business Consultancy, was stabbed 23 times in her office.

Police said Kumar visited the consultancy around 2.10 pm, claimed that he was unhappy with the work arranged through the firm and demanded a refund of his fee and salary for the days worked. The HR manager sat him down in a consulting room and briefed the owner.

While Kiran Reddy was talking to him, voices were heard from the room. At around 14.25, the suspect came out with a knife in his hand, stabbed the HR manager in the shoulder and fled. The staff entered the room and found Kiran Reddy covered in blood.

Based on technical clues and field intelligence, the police tracked down and arrested the accused. The knife used in the crime, a mobile phone and 4 mobile phones allegedly stolen from the counseling office were seized.
