‘Acting legend Jake Paul’: Olivia Rodrigo mocks ex-Disney co-star during SNL opening monologue

The singer joked that the show had an “incredible cast”; this includes someone he sarcastically calls “acting legend Jake Paul.” “Me and Jake, we always talked about our future,” Rodrigo told the audience.
While Paul had a very different goal, she said she would tell him, “I really want to create music that explores the complexities of girls my age.” “And he’d say, ‘I really want to beat up old guys on Netflix one day,'” he said, referring to Paul’s recent boxing matches featuring older opponents that have been streamed on Netflix. “And we both did it. Hooray!” Rodrigo added, drawing loud laughter and applause from the audience.
The joke quickly became one of the standout moments of his monologue, especially since both stars first found fame through Disney before going on very different career paths.
Rodrigo also touched on his acting debut, sharing that his first job was in an Old Navy commercial when he was six years old. He joked that his line was cut from the commercial and recreated the moment in the scene for laughs.
She then promoted her upcoming album and joked about its long title, saying, “My last two albums were called ‘Sour’ and ‘Courage,’ and this new album is called ‘You Look Pretty Sad For a Girl With Many Loves.’ So I learned more words, guys!
The monologue also included a comedy song about getting his REAL ID at the DMV, turning the frustrating paperwork process into a dramatic ballad.
