Actress debuts dramatic bob with fringe at Paris Fashion Week
Can someone please check on Margot Robbie? Wuthering Heights And Barbie The actress was front row at Paris Fashion Week for Chanel on Monday night, sporting a dramatic new look that raised eyebrows.
Robbie’s see-through jeans are no surprise after the nearly nude Giorgio Armani dress she wore to the September premiere of her film. Big Brave A Beautiful Journey. It’s her dramatic long bob with wispy fringe that has hairdressers keeping their scissors ready.
“There’s a saying that a woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life,” says Deanna Parker Attwood, three-time Australian Hairdresser of the Year and artistic director of Wieselmann Salon in South Melbourne. “Putting aside is something people do when they want to feel sharper.”
“Margot has what we call eyebrow-raising bangs. It’s fresh, dramatic, and suits the ‘It’ girl of the moment.”
Goldwell Ambassador Nathan Yazbek at Salon Yazbek in Neutral Bay has seen a recent increase in bobs and lobs (long bobs).
“This is a style that people demand as they go through life changes,” Yazbek said. “Hair is an extension of how people feel about themselves, and a striking haircut means they want to look different.”
Thanks to the new look, it’s no longer possible to confuse Robbie with Cathy. “Wuthering Heights” or Barbie (unless he gets attacked with nail clippers by a talented young playmate).
“The nineties style is a bit mixed, which makes Margot’s point of view spot-on,” says Yazbek. “Bangs frame her face, highlight her cheekbones and show off her natural beauty.”
“Style is definitely a statement. Sometimes women wake up the next morning with a lot of regret because they’re not sure how to style it.”
For a seemingly low-maintenance look, Robbie’s hairstyle takes effort.
“The trick is to blow dry your bangs first,” says Yazbek. “If you leave them all the way through, they will dry out and misplace. You’ll also need some hairspray and oil to set the bangs in place and get that rock star vibe.”
It’s essential to make regular visits to the hairdresser before hair ends just below your eyebrows, affecting your vision and leaving you desperately reaching for a headband.
“Your fringe needs to be trimmed every two weeks,” says Attwood. “If you exercise regularly, you also need to wash it regularly. You can even wash your fringes separately. It can be a little painful.”
Robbie was facing style competition from best supporting actress Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor, who debuted her silver-haired look in a sheer raincoat and white sequined turtleneck dress.
Our other front row member, Kylie Minogue, was a more familiar face, revealing her crowning glory in a matching ruched camisole top and skirt.
Actress Lily-Rose Depp has shown that when in doubt, try wearing a hat instead of an animal print coat.
Matthieu Blazy’s ready-to-wear collection was a complete success on the catwalk
