India on Sunday, February 1, 2026, denied Islamabad’s alleged involvement in a series of attacks carried out by the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) over the weekend and urged Pakistan to meet the “long-standing demands” of Baloch rebels.

This statement by the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) came after Pakistani Home Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi claimed that the recent attacks that shook cities such as Gwadar, Quetta and Pasni were carried out with the help of India.

‘Our own internal failures’

“We categorically reject Pakistan’s baseless allegations, which are nothing but its usual tactics to divert attention from its internal failures,” said MEA official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, urging Pakistan to “focus on meeting the long-standing demands of its people in the region.”

“His record of repression, brutality and human rights violations is well known,” Mr. Jaiswal said. Earlier, Mr Naqvi had pointed the finger at India when describing the BLA’s latest attacks, which claimed the lives of at least 18 civilians and 15 law enforcement officers. “India is behind these attacks,” Mr. Naqvi had said at a press conference in Quetta on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Over the weekend, many cities and towns in Balochistan witnessed attacks claimed by the Baloch Liberation Army. In a mail to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that the wave of violence was part of the operation dubbed ‘Operation Herof 2’ and the operation lasted for more than 15 hours.

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Mr. Jeeyand Baloch claimed that BLA fighters had established positions at the Pakistani military camp at Noshki, southwest of Quetta. Mr. Jeeyand Baloch also said that BLA fighters managed to establish a temporary blockade on the coastal road of Balochistan, disrupting smooth movement.
