Advance UK launch: Newcastle hotel cancels event for Tommy Robinson-backed political party
Advance UK, a new political party, canceled the opening launch event by a hotel owned by a council in Newcastle.
The party is led by former reform vice -reform Ben Habib and is supported by right -wing activist Tommy Robinson and billionaire Elon Musk.
A conference was planned in the city on Saturday. Although the venue was not initially disclosed, it was understood that it was the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the city center.
The Newcastle Municipal Assembly confirmed that the hotel administration has canceled its reservation for “health and safety reasons after an online protest.
When Advance announced the UK event in August, he said that he chose Newcastle because Brexit was a symbolic heart ”.
The party promised to fight UNAPOLOGY to fight in sovereignty, free speech and recovering the pride in our nation ”.
Local authority took over the hotel in March, but is managed by a separate company.
A spokesman for a Newcastle Municipal Assembly: uz We know that the hotel administration has decided to cancel an event planned on Saturday, September 27th.
“As the owner of the hotel, we certainly support the decisions of staff, guests and visitors to ensure the safety and prosperity of the hotel.
“As in any case, the security of everyone in our city is our absolute priority.”
Mr Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, supported Advance UK in August and wrote that he wanted a “political house” to X.
Mr. Musk replied: “Advance UK will actually change change.
“Farage will do nothing weak sauce.”
Newcastle Unites Group, who said it was against discrimination on the Facebook page, asked the local authority to cancel the British reservation.
Newcastle Municipal Assembly Leader Assembly Member Karen Kilgour, war and persecution of people who escaped a better life to provide a history of shelter, he said.
