Jye Amiss kicked five goals and Murphy Reid put on a clinic in the third quarter as Fremantle continued their west derby dominance with a 70-point win over West Coast at Optus Stadium.
The Dockers led by just eight points in the first half of Friday night’s match, but scored 11 goals in the second half to secure an easy victory, 16.16 (112) to 6.6 (42).
Amiss took 7 inside 50m to reach 5.1, while last year’s Rising Star winner Murphy Reid (26 disposals, one goal) collected the Glendinning-Allan medal for best away after turning the competition around with a stunning nine-ball third quarter.
Matthew Johnson (29 disposals, six cleans) and Caleb Serong (26 disposals, seven cleans) also played big games in front of 56,616 fans; this was a record home attendance for a Fremantle regular season match.
There were concerns recently when West Coast mid-season forward Oliver Francou had his right knee cut by boot spikes during a tackle on Andrew Brayshaw.
