After Ayodhya, Badrinath Dham Hit by Theft Claims; Probe Ordered

– Dehradun: Following allegations of misappropriation of Ram temple donations in Ayodhya, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) on Friday ordered an inquiry into similar allegations regarding offerings at Badrinath Dham. BKTC Chairman Hemant Dwivedi stated that the temple committee took the allegations circulating on social media seriously and ordered the formation of an investigation committee to investigate the matter. He added that an explanation was also sought from the employees involved.

Dwivedi also denied the allegation doing the rounds on social media, describing a particular employee as his ‘personal secretary’. He clarified that the person in question was not his personal secretary but a regular government employee of BKTC.

He claimed that if the allegations are proven true during the investigation, no criminal will be spared and strict sanctions will be imposed.

BKTC Chief Executive Officer Sohan Singh Rangad said the investigation committee will submit its report based on available evidence, CCTV footage and statements of relevant parties.

Rangad stated that if any irregularities are uncovered, legal and administrative proceedings will be initiated against the culprits under the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Act, 1939 and employee code of conduct.

He called on the public to refrain from spreading unsubstantiated or misleading claims until the investigation is concluded.
