After Venezuela, is Greenland the next target of US?

Denmark is responsible for the security, law and order of Greenland.
US President Donald Trump, who kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from his home, has now started publishing the list of countries he wants to conquer and whose governments he wants to overthrow. This list now includes a region considered friendly to the United States. After Venezuela on this list, there is a region in Europe. Previously, Cuba, Colombia and Iran were seen as Trump’s next targets. But Trump’s new announcement shocked his European allies. Now Trump wants to seize Greenland, the autonomous region of Denmark, which is considered an ally of the United States. Denmark is responsible for the security, law and order of Greenland.
Why does the US President want to seize the autonomous region of his own ally?
Trump said that Greenland is vital for America’s national security and that Denmark is not capable of managing it. This means that Denmark will not easily give up the land that the United States needs most. This situation shows that Trump, who campaigned with the slogan “Make America Great Again”, may have Greenland as his next target and that he is using these statements to prepare the USA for such a move.
Previously, the world did not take Trump’s statements this seriously, especially before the attempt to kidnap Maduro. However, this time, Trump’s preparations are starting to be seen on the field. Trump may begin working on a plan to seize Greenland even before taking action against Iran.
Why is the USA interested in Greenland?
Greenland is the world’s largest island located in the Arctic region near North America. It is almost 80% covered in ice and has a population of less than 100,000. Denmark began administering Greenland around 1700. Greenland remained a Danish colony for a long time. Greenland gradually became self-governing. Today Greenland has its own prime minister, its own government, its own language and its own culture. However, Denmark is still concerned with foreign policy and defense issues. In other words, in the world, Greenland is recognized as the autonomous region of Denmark. In 2019, the United States even offered to buy Greenland, but both Denmark and Greenland refused.
Why is Greenland so important to the United States?
The Arctic used to be completely covered in ice, but now climate change is causing the ice to melt. This paves the way for two new shipping routes, the Northwest Passage and the Trans-Polar Route. These two routes will shorten the journey between Europe and Asia by 7 to 10 days. This would reduce dependence on the Suez and Panama canals. Greenland is among these routes. Therefore, whoever controls Greenland will also be able to control Arctic trade.
– The Greenland ice sheet is believed to contain approximately 20 percent of the world’s freshwater reserves. As water scarcity increases on a global scale, this water will become more valuable than gold.
– Traveling directly from the United States to the Arctic is long, expensive, and dangerous due to weather conditions. Greenland is located between the United States and the North Pole. Therefore, it is possible that the Arctic will become a “forward base” for both the United States and Europe.
