Agnes Wanjiru: Arrest warrant issued for UK citizen over murder of woman found in septic tank

For the United Kingdom citizen, an arrest warrant was issued for the murder of a woman near the British army base.

21 -year -old Agnes Wanjiru was found dead in a septic tank behind a hotel in Kenya two months after disappearing in March 2012.

An investigation in 2018 found that Wanjiru, a sex worker, was seen with British soldiers in Nanyuki, the last market town.

In a post -death examination, he concluded that he had died because of his stabbing wounds on his chest and stomach.

There was also evidence that it was beaten, but it was not clear that his body was sexually assaulted because of his condition.

The investigation concluded that he was killed by British soldiers after Wanjiru was discovered near the base.

The police in Kenya reopened the case to Wanjiru’s murder in 2021 after saying that no one was convicted of the death of his family.

Defense Minister John Healey said that at a meeting held in April, Kenya President William Ruto would raise the issue and emphasize the need to “accelerate progress” in the case before the meeting.
