‘Agni 5’ Intermediate-Range Missile Successfully Test-Fired

BHUBANESWAR: On Wednesday evening, India successfully tested the Agni 5 from Chandipur in Odisha.

According to the sources of the Ministry of Defense, the launch confirmed all operational and technical parameters. It was held under the auspices of the Strategic Forces Command.

On March 11, 2024, India successfully performed the first flight test of the AGNI-5 missile, which was developed independently of Dr Ap Apj Abdul Kalam Island on the Odisha coast, developed indigenously developed with the technology of re-entry (MIRV).

The flight test was carried out as part of India’s Mission Divyastra.

The AGNI-5 missile is said to be an important milestone with MIRV technology to support India’s defense strategic capabilities.

According to experts, the AGN 5 missile developed jointly by the Strategic Forces Command and Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) can hit 5,000 km to 8,000 km.
