Groq wants other US companies that increase investments in the region, following the increasing demand for AI services in Europe. In particular, Scandinavian is a popular place for data facilities, as the region has easy access to renewable energy and cool climates. Last month, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was in Europe and signed various infrastructure agreements, including data centers.

Groq, worth $ 2.8 billion, designs a chip that the company calls a language processing unit (LPU). It is designed to quite training. Inference is when a previously trained AI model interprets live data to find a result, such as the answers produced by popular chatbots.

While Nvidia has a throat in the chips to train graphic processing units (GPUs) and large AI models, there is an attempt to take a slice of pie when it comes to innercing. Sambanova; Ampere is in the process of purchasing a company Softbank; The cerebra and fraktiile want to participate in the AI Inference Race.

European politicians are pushing the concept of sovereign AI that data centers should be present in the region. Data centers, which are closer to users, also help to increase the speed of services.

Global Data Center Builder Equinix connects different cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud and makes it easier for businesses to have multiple sellers. Groq’s LPUs will be installed in the Equinix data center, which allows businesses to access Groq’s inference capabilities via Equinix.
