AI firm Mistral valued at $14 billion as ASML takes major stake

ASML pumped 1.3 billion euros as the chief investor in Mistral AI’s 1.7 billion-Euro finance tour and received 11% of the French company.
The investment tour previously reported by Reuters is doubled by the Mistral’s 5.8 billion-EURO valuation of the 600 million-Euro financing tour last year. The donation gathering tour transforms ASML into one of Mistral’s best shareholders.
Mistral, one of the most competitive technology initiatives in Europe and is seen as a regional rival of Sam Altman’s Openai, is the major language models that form the basis of AI applications such as chat boots. AI companies often want to invest a large amount of infrastructure to support this development.
At the beginning of summer, Mistral CEO Arthur Mensch told Arjun Kharpal from CNBC to Kharpal’s first reasoning model in London Tech Week – “Great in mathematics [and] Great about coding ” – to compete with Openai and China’s Deepseek.
