BBC in Cuba as island plunged into darkness

In Cuba, more than 10 million people experienced power outages in their homes and workplaces after the country’s national power grid collapsed.

The Caribbean island has suffered multiple power outages this month as a result of a U.S. fuel blockade that has cut off imports of foreign oil needed to keep power plants running.

The communist-ruled country has an aging electrical infrastructure and chronic fuel shortages.

The BBC’s Will Grant reports from the capital, Havana.
