AIADMK Warns ‘Political Consequences’ if TVK Poaches Its Cadre

– Madurai: AIADMK leader RB Udhayakumar on Friday rejected TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna’s claims that 90 per cent of Dravidian party cadres are ready to join the Vijay-led party and warned of serious “political consequences” if attempts to kidnap AIADMK workers continue. “I am giving you (Arjuna) this final warning: If you continue with this body snatching business and this drama of claiming to offer power, you will have to face serious political consequences and a huge political backlash. You will have to face it,” Udhayakumar said.

Describing Arjuna as a “new political candidate” without a stable ideological base, the former minister alleged that TVK was aggressively trying to buy off loyal opposition cadres using absolute money power and administrative traps.

“The collective heartbreak of millions of die-hard grassroots workers of the AIADMK remains an inexhaustible vessel. A powerhouse that has jumped into multiple political parties in the last 10 years just to invest and accumulate power is now making hollow statements about our cadres,” Udhayakumar told reporters here.

Emphasizing the election mathematics, Udhayakumar pointed out that 68.5 percent of the total voting population in Tamil Nadu cast their votes against DMK.

He criticized the TVK for creating a “mirage of despair” around the AIADMK, when in reality the TVK had captured only 34.5 per cent of this anti-incumbency sentiment, which was nowhere close to the authority to demand absolute authority or state rule.

“A party that has not fully secured public confidence to assume state power actively organizes horse-trading theater on weekends and holidays and boasts that ‘unification ceremonies’ will continue on Saturdays and Sundays.”

Issuing an ultimatum, the former minister stated that AIADMK’s two crore strong cadre base down to the most common rank-and-file worker would retaliate legally and politically if this illegal poaching operation (“Aal Pidikira Velai”) continued under the guise of providing political asylum.

He reiterated that victories and defeats never deterred the AIADMK and their commitment to public service remained unshakable under the leadership of Edappadi K Palaniswami.

“If you continue to act like an ideological enemy and pursue our loyalists, you will have to face a fierce and violent political backlash from millions of heartbroken but resilient party workers,” Udhayakumar said. he said.
