Al Saba Restaurant Shut in Gachibowli; Lapses Found in Multiple Eateries

While food safety teams detected expired food, pest-infested suji, poorly stored meat and hygiene deficiencies during inspections at restaurants in Ghatkesar, Pocharam, Chintal and Gachibowli, one restaurant was also ordered to stop its operations.
Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation said expired sauces were found at Akshith’s Tandoori Fusion Dhaba in Ghatkesar. Cooked meat and other foods kept in poor condition were discarded along with food colors. Inspectors found greasy floors, dusty walls and roof, unhygienic freezers and inadequate ventilation. An improvement notice was recommended and the store scored 72 per cent on hygiene.
Inspection notes recorded expired mushrooms at Sree Parivaar Multicuisine Restaurant, suji infested with around six kg of warehouse pests at Vedhasree Hotel and Hospitality Services or Tulips Hotel and blackfly infestation at R. Royal Bawarchi. Suji and food colors were discarded. Hygiene scores were 88 per cent for Sree Parivaar, 95 per cent for Tulips Hotel and 75 per cent for R. Royal Bawarchi.
Inspections found incomplete pest control records, missing medical fitness certificates, greasy floors, inadequate ventilation, poorly maintained freezers, untrained food workers and inadequate garbage bins.
Elsewhere, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) ordered Al Saba Restaurant in Gachibowli to cease operations due to “serious food safety and hygiene violations”. It will remain closed until it complies with the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 and permission is obtained. “Food safety is non-negotiable,” CMC said.
At KS Bakers Private Limited in Chintal, which received 96 per cent votes, FSSAI license for transport vehicles was not available at the time of inspection, while food grade packaging certificates and internal audit reports were not maintained. The operator was told to correct the deficiencies.
