Euromillions £25m jackpot winner announced – and they’re British | UK | News

A single ticket holder from the UK has won the £25 million EuroMillions jackpot for the second Friday in a row, the National Lottery has announced.

The winning numbers for the dazzling jackpot on October 10 were 06, 07, 17, 20 and 21, and the Lucky Star numbers were 01 and 10.

The winner matched all these numbers, while three people won a whopping prize of £40,638.50 by matching five numbers and one lucky star. Five more people matched just five numbers and won £8,036.60 each.

National Lottery players are being asked to check their tickets, while last night’s two million jackpot prize has still not been claimed.

This draw on 10 October saw a UK ticket holder claim the first prize on a Friday night in a row, and the fourth time this year it was awarded to a UK ticket holder. Last Friday saw a £26 million jackpot won by a single ticket holder from the UK, while another player bagged a massive £65 million jackpot on Valentine’s Day and a third winner won an £83 million jackpot in January.

Andy Carter, senior winners advisor at Allwyn (operator of the National Lottery), said: “Wow, it’s been an exciting night for EuroMillions players as a single ticket holder from the UK has won a whopping £25 million jackpot. This follows two United States wins in a week after another lucky player won the incredible £26 million jackpot last Friday (October 3). The Kingdom won the EuroMillions jackpot.

“Players are now asked to check their tickets and call us if they think they are tonight’s lucky winner.”

Each EuroMillions ticket also provides the recipient with automatic entry into UK Millionaire Maker; This guarantees that at least one player will win an incredible £1 million in every draw. Last night’s UK Millionaire Maker Selection winner was TGXG94724.

These results come after the National Lottery’s live broadcast was interrupted last night due to technical problems. EuroMillions draws are held in Paris by La Française des Jeux, the French operator of the National Lottery.

A ticket for the hugely popular EuroMillions draw, which takes place every Tuesday and Friday, costs £2.50. Purchasing a EuroMillions ticket automatically enters you into the UK Millionaire Maker draw, which creates new UK millionaires every week. The total jackpot prize could be up to £167 million.

On Saturday 4 October, a ticket holder claimed the entire £10,633,323 Lotto jackpot by matching six main numbers: 06, 08, 12, 33, 49 and 59. National Lottery players are urged to check their physical ticket carefully to see if they are the lucky winner, as the winning numbers are all purchased in store.

The EuroMillions draw has been running for over twenty years and the first draw was held on 7 February 2004 by three organisations: Camelot in the United Kingdom, Française des Jeux in France and Loterías y Apuestas del Estado in Spain.

In the past, one of the UK’s biggest prizes was up for grabs on December 4, 2020, with a staggering £175 million EuroMillions jackpot that would make its recipient even richer than Adele.

Other winners of the massive jackpot included Chris and Colin Weir from Largs, Scotland, who won a whopping £161,653,000 in the draw on 12 July 2011.

Gillian and Adrian Bayford, from Haverhill, Suffolk, netted a whopping £148,656,000 after winning the EuroMillions draw on 10 August 2012; Jane Park became Britain’s youngest lottery winner at the age of 17 after collecting £1 million in 2013.

Another UK winner, who wished to remain anonymous, won the life-changing jackpot of £170,221,000 in the draw on 8 October 2019.

The odds of winning the EuroMillions prize are 1 in 13, and the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 139 million.
