M1 traffic LIVE: Chaos on motorway as crash sparks ‘severe’ delays and hours-long closure | UK | News

Motorists traveling on the M1 faced serious delays on Thursday morning. The accident, which National Highways said involved a vehicle leaving the carriageway, led to the closure of the southbound highway between junctions 37 and 36.

Drivers were asked to stay away from the area as traffic was congested and serious delays were expected. Traffic cameras at 7 a.m. showed queues already forming at junction 35. National Highways added that normal traffic conditions are not expected before 11am.
