CM Chandrababu Naidu Promises Stable Government Inspired by Gujarat Model

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday asserted that Andhra Pradesh will continue on the path of stable development with a single and stable government inspired by the “Gujarat model”.
Naidu was speaking at a meeting held at Telugu Desam head office to mark the death anniversary of NT Rama Rao paying floral tributes to the TD founder’s statue. He also distributed certificates to volunteer blood donors at the camp organized by NTR Trust.
The Prime Minister announced a major welfare drive, stating that 700 additional Anna Canteens will be opened shortly to complement the existing 200+ Anna Canteens. It also set a deadline for the housing department by targeting ‘Gruhapravesam’ (housewarming party) of 5 lakh houses by Ugadi festival.
Naidu accused the Opposition of indulging in “credit theft” by spreading “poison” on projects like Greenko, Bhogapuram Airport and Amaravati through media outlets. Criticizing YSRC president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Naidu criticized his remarks regarding the capital city and said that his claim that “anywhere people live becomes a capital city” is irresponsible.
“If someone stays in Bengaluru, will this become the capital? If someone stays in Idupulapaya, will this become the capital?” Naidu said. he asked.
The Chief Minister claimed that people rejected Jagan Mohan Reddy’s “three capitals” proposal, thus giving the NDA alliance a broad mandate in all three districts of the state.
Stating that there is no place for rowdiness in the state, Naidu urged party cadres to proudly declare “Amaravati is our state capital”. He mocked YSRC by saying that land, sand, minerals and liquor are their only “credit” while projects like Cyberabad, Amaravati, Kia Motors and Bhogapuram are feathers in TD’s cap.
Warning that crimes committed under the guise of politics would not be tolerated, he said strict action would be taken irrespective of where the criminals were hiding, and promised to transform Palnadu into a peaceful region.
Naidu said, “Following the continuity of these ideals, their government has been expanding welfare without compromising on fiscal responsibility. Pensions, which started at Rs 35, have been gradually increased to Rs 4,000, while Anna Canteens now provide meals at Rs 5 and there are plans to set up these in every constituency.”
He said major housing programs were underway with land and houses being provided to the poor in rural and urban areas. “After the three-lakh housewarming ceremony, another five lakh will be held in Ugadi with the aim of providing housing to all within three years.”
Naidu said the 3-party government has fulfilled its 2024 election promises despite financial constraints. Pensions were increased, massive DSC and police recruitment took place and more work was on the anvil to ensure no educated young person was left unemployed.
He recalled the repeal of the land title law, the restoration of pattadar passbooks with state emblems and the introduction of blockchain and QR code systems to prevent falsification of records.
Regarding irrigation and infrastructure, the Prime Minister reiterated the “water for every acre” target, stating that the reservoirs are full and major projects are progressing rapidly. Polavaram will be completed by June 2027 and the connecting of the river from Vamsadhara to Penna will secure the water future of the state without damaging any district.
In the power sector, Naidu said electricity tariffs will not be increased, saying purchasing costs have been reduced to ease the burden on consumers.
