Albanese to announce new Office of AI and national framework

Prime minister Anthony Albanese will give his big AI speech in Sydney later today; Previews of the address suggest we won’t be given any updates on copyright reforms aimed at protecting the creative industries.

We are due to hear about the creation of an Artificial Intelligence Office within the Prime Minister’s own department and a new national framework known as “Australian Standards”. 7News reports.

“Every country in the world is grappling with these challenges right now,” Albanese is expected to say later.
