Albo’s April 1 address, Kevin Rudd’s Substack, and a beastly reality

Is that all (again)?: Remember earlier this year when Anthony Albanese pulled what may be one of the best April Fool’s jokes in Australian political history? When did Albanese announce that at 11am on April 1, he would make the first nationwide speech by a prime minister since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, later that evening?

This was, of course, a time when people were getting very stressed because of a war brewing in the Middle East.
