ALISON BOSHOFF: That’s not very rock ‘n’ roll… Jerry Hall’s 70th birthday bash ends at 6pm – while Meghan Markle’s photos vanish…

Her famous ex Mick Jagger sang Let’s Spend The Night Together, but Jerry Hall isn’t planning on doing anything like that for his upcoming 70th birthday in July.

The supermodel is sending out invitations to a ‘big party’ at her huge country house near Henley.

However, invitations inform guests that the celebrations will continue from 14:00 to 18:00 in the afternoon; It’s an end time that sounds very logical for Jerry, who is clearly and truly behind that wild Studio 54 night; Not to mention Mick, who turns 83 at the end of July.

Jerry invites ‘all the kids’; that is, all the children fathered by the Rolling Stones frontman, who was once his life partner, including the children of women other than himself.

There are eight people in total, ranging in age from Karis Jagger, 55, to nine-year-old Deveraux, Mick’s son with ballerina Melanie Hamrick.

Jerry’s four children with Mick will be there, along with their wives and children. These are James, Lizzy, Georgia and Gabriel; and James, Lizzy and Georgia’s children Juni (ten), Eugene (four) and Dean (one).

An invitation will also be sent to Lucas, Mick’s son with model Luciana Morad. News of her pregnancy was the final straw for long-suffering Jerry, who fired Jagger when the incident came to light in 1999.

Although Mick and Jerry thought it was ‘rude’ for her to insist on annulling their relationship on the grounds that the ceremony they had in Bali in 1990 was not legally valid, Mick and Jerry are on very good terms.

Last year he was at a Christmas party in Chelsea with wider family.

Jade, Mick’s daughter from first wife Bianca, and his adult children Amba and Assisi (Jade also has an 11-year-old son called Ray) will be invited. Tragedy struck earlier this year when Assisi’s partner Alex Key, 37, was reported missing in Boscastle, Cornwall. His body was later found in the sea off Bude.

With 11 bedrooms and three cottages on 26 acres of land, Jerry’s house certainly has enough room for everyone.

This is where his son Gabriel got married in 2021; and Jerry held on to it while divorcing businessman Rupert Murdoch in 2022.

He seems to have settled in well in Oxfordshire, and last year he turned on the Christmas lights in Henley-on-Thames, describing it as the ‘most beautiful’ place he had ever lived.

It’s not like she’ll have a new boyfriend, but she does have a beloved new friend in the form of a spaniel named Spot.

Earlier this year she said: ‘I’m having a huge birthday party in the summer – I’m excited about it.’ She added: ‘I love being a grandmother. This is the best.

‘I have three grandchildren and I’m teaching them about gardening – organic gardening! – and, you know, helping me out with the chickens and having fun. ‘I’m having a good time, I’m very lucky.’

These were images meant to announce that Meghan was truly on the outs with the wealthy patrons at Netflix.

But this week, four out of five photos of the Duchess of Sussex hugging the head of streamer Ted Sarandos and his wife Nicole Avant mysteriously disappeared.

Insiders say all footage from an event to celebrate the second series of hit show Beef was filmed in California last Friday afternoon. Some of it was approved for release by Netflix and was duly released to the media through the Getty picture agency about 24 hours later.

They showed Meghan with her arms around Sarandos, as the pair appeared to be sharing a joke; and Sarandos’ wife Nicole being hugged tightly by the duchess. They were all removed on Tuesday.

Following a series of reports saying Sarandos was fed up with the Sussexes, the reaction online has been hugely negative, with the images described as ’embarrassing’ and Meghan left ‘desperate’ to strike up a friendship with the power couple.

The circumstances are reminiscent of the removal two days later of footage of Harry and Meghan attending Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner’s birthday party on the eve of Remembrance Sunday last year.

In the latest case of disappearing pictures, neither Netflix nor the Sussexes were willing to explain why the pictures were quietly deleted. The only remaining shot is a cast of Harry, Meghan, Sarandos and Ms. Avant (above). In particular, all photographs showing the duchess in physical contact with the couple were removed.

A Getty spokesman said: ‘These images were shot for Netflix and they have asked for them to be removed so we can no longer license them.’

The insider said that all photos taken by Getty at Netflix events will usually be approved by the streamer at the end of the event. A 24-hour delay in releasing these was seen as unusual and shows that the client (Netflix) was taking care not to inconvenience guests in any way. A source said the post-publication request to remove images was ‘highly unusual, if not unheard of’. The Sussexes were acquired by Netflix in an exclusive deal reportedly worth $100 million, shortly after they quit their lives as royals in September 2020.

The deal led to the Harry and Meghan series that settled the score; and also to Harry’s documentary about polo. Also on the lifestyle show With Love, Meghan had two series (and a “holiday special”).

Last summer the couple’s deal was downgraded to a ‘first look’ deal and this year Netflix announced it was stepping away from that too, after a year of working with Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever as a commercial partner, amid reports of ‘$10 million’ in unsold stock.

The Duchess’s team released a statement saying the parting of ways was always planned to happen; and that the jam and wine brand has had ‘meaningful and rapid success’.

But sources said the “experiment” was not a commercial success for Netflix, agreeing with a recent article in Variety that claimed the streamer was done with the Sussexes.

I spy a rising star: Agnes stars in new Le Carre

Agnes O’Casey attends the World Premiere of season one of Black Doves on December 3, 2024

Agnes O’Casey has been rumored to be the ‘next big thing’ for a while now, and now her star role has finally arrived.

She will star opposite Charlie Hunnam in a major new BBC adaptation of John le Carre’s classic The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, called Legacy of Spies for reasons best known to the producers.

O’Casey (pictured) joins Hunnam’s Alec Leamas as librarian Liz Gold; For those who remember the 1965 movie, this stars Richard Burton as Claire Bloom.

He took on the same role in a critically acclaimed theater production at Chichester Festival Theater in 2024, before transferring to the West End.

You may have seen the actress, who is the granddaughter of Irish playwright Sean O’Casey, in Black Doves on Netflix; or in the BBC One drama Ridley Road.

Matthew Macfadyen will play George Smiley in the series. Dan Stevens takes on the role of the charismatic Bill Haydon; The cast also includes German actors Daniel Bruhl and Felix Kammerer (All Quiet on the Western Front).

O’Casey described her character Liz as ‘really smart’. He said: ‘She’s not the classic confused female counterpart. He’s the heart of the story. ‘It is her honesty that makes Leamas fall in love with her.’

Claire Bloom and Richard Burton were lovers a few years before making the movie, and they reunited in an awkward way.

It’s odd because Burton’s wife, Liz Taylor, was extremely jealous; and on set. Bloom recalled: ‘He would sit on the steps and watch like a vulture, and then a terrible voice would say: ‘Richard!’ And he was running towards her. ‘The situation was difficult.’

Will Lauren be the Miss Met Ball?

Reactions to Lauren Sanchez Bezos’ purchase (sorry, patronage) of the Met Gala ball in New York are increasing.

Jeff Bezos’ other half talks a lot about just spreading positivity. But a recent, supposedly flattering profile in the New York Times brims with veiled sarcasm; including the revelation that her morning routine starts with coffee sipped from a mug that reads ‘I Woke Up Sexy As Hell Again’. (Her husband’s mug reads HUNK… in letters from the periodic table.) Whatever your opinion of her, Sanchez Bezos followed suit by claiming she had no idea her lace bra was visible under the suit she wore to Donald Trump’s inauguration (right).

The world waits with bated breath for their selected appearances on the first Monday of May.

Midge Ure admits she embarrassed herself by singing the wrong lyrics to some of her most memorable songs.

The frontman of Ultravox, who will tour the UK in May and June, says: ‘I always sing the wrong lyrics. I’m not very good at this. From my position on stage you can see into the front rows of the audience and I can see them singing the right words while I sing the wrong songs. They obviously know I got it wrong.

‘The problem is, I don’t listen to my own stuff; So I became alienated from the lyrics I was supposed to sing.’

Look, you might see Kendall Roy in a red wig… but what you need to see is Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.

Jeremy Strong (left) gives an absolutely stellar performance (in his own intense, unhinged way) in The Social Reckoning, a companion piece of sorts to the 2010 film The Social Network.

Jesse Eisenberg has declined to return to reprise his role as the Facebook founder.

But reports from Cinema Con in Las Vegas this week, where some footage was shown, suggest that, wig or no wig, Strong is a powerhouse in the role.
