All 14 people on board of Saudi Aramco helicopter killed after horror crash | World | News

14 people lost their lives in the helicopter crash that occurred in the Saudi city of Ras Tanura, west of the Strait of Hormuz. According to the Saudi Ministry of Energy, no one on board survived the accident on Sunday.

In the statement, it was stated that the incident occurred around 6 a.m. local time and that all of the deceased were Saudi citizens. While no further information was given about what caused the accident, an investigation was launched.

The Saudi state news agency said: “Investigations are ongoing with the involvement of relevant authorities to determine the causes of the helicopter crash.”

The helicopter belonged to Aramco, the world’s largest oil company, which is majority owned by Saudi Arabia.

Aramco resumed crude oil shipments from its Ras Tanura terminal in the Gulf on Friday, which were halted for nearly four months due to the war in Iran.

The company said it had successfully shifted some of its oil exports to a pipeline to avoid the Strait of Hormuz, which had been disrupted since March by a blockade imposed by Tehran and subsequently imposed by the United States.

This accident comes in light of the many aircraft incidents reported in recent days.

Emergency services have confirmed that the pilot of a small plane in Devon died when it crashed on a farm near the airport on Friday.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the pilot, believed to be a woman in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
